| 151 | William Frank Hallam was born at Balmoral on 3rd August 1888 (5610 died at Portland on 15TH February 1960 (72/21344). William Frank came from a Protestant upbringing and when he married Catholic Mary Murray, this caused much family friction where there was hence much family emotional cutoffs.The specifics are not known other there has later been reported limited contact with his siblings/Family William married Marguerite Daisy (aka Daisy) Ahearn who was born at "Hensley Park" Hamilton on the 9th May 1888. | 152 | William Hallam was born in England at a town called Boston in 1852 and migrated to Australia as a boy with his two parents Hanna and Joseph. and several brothers and sisters. Mary Hallam was born in Victoria in 1852. Mary Hallam (nee Murray) was the first white child born on Muntham", the station owned by Edward Henty near Coleraine. (Muntham was settled 6 months before Melbourne. Edward Henty was the first landowner in the area with his brother Stephen at merino Downs, they were the first owners of grazing land in Victoria. William Hallam was born in England at a town called Boston in 1852 and migrated to Australia as a small boy with his parents Hanna and Joseph and brothers and sisters. William and Mary were to meet and marry at a place called "Bruk Bruk" Fernhaugh, near Casterton. They settled on a property called "Turkey Bottom" not far from "Muntham where Harry and Dave were born in 1877 and 1879. A few years later they moved to Telangatuk, now called Kanagulk, where Mary was born in 1886, followed later by Bill, Margaret, Vera and Ruby. They were well known for their hospitality . There were nine in the family plus the school teacher, with relatives and neighbors from near and far, also stock agents, the wool traveler and many a pie with fresh fruit from the Orchard was shared. When the Hallam's lived at Telangatuk they used to tie bunches of grapes to the kitchen rafters to dry. These grapes became currents and sultanas for cake baking The District picnic was held on the Hallam's wooded block further West from the farm at the rifle butts. All the locals would come mostly by horse and buggy and there would be no doubt have been great preparation of food for the days before hand. Those days were to be remembered by people for the rest of their lives. | 153 | William Hallam was born in Lincolnshire England in 1851 to Joseph and Hannah. He immigrated to Australia in 1853 on the "Magdalena" with his parents and half brother and sister. Shipping records have his age as one so we can assume William's DOB was late 1851. William married Mary Murray on the 13th March 1876 at Fern Haugh, Bruk Bruk and worked as a farmer and labourer. William was a labourer and lived in the Sandhurst area till about 1880 when they moved to Koondrook. William married Grace VINSON in St James Church, Kilkhampton, Cornwell, January 30 1817. Grace died May 6th 1867 in Mt Moriat Victoria Australia at 70 years of age. She was baptized in Stanbury, Morwenstow, CORNWELL May 16th 1796. She emigrated December 23rd 1854. Point of origin Plymouth, Devon. | 161 | WW2 starts 3rd September 1939. Russia, the USSR invaded Latvia in June 1940. From 14th June 1941 the first big deportation of Latvians approximately 16,000 deported including women and children. Context- Below is an account about Ernest Embriks who was removed from his home in the night by the Russians and never seen again. Ernest was the maternal Grandfather of Anita (Mn Apsite) Hallam. Account from written records reads- Ernest Embriks, son of Janis born in 1900, 18th February in Liepaja) arrested 22nd June 1941. The USSR Internal Affairs Ministers in accordance with the Communist Party FSR (KPFSR) criminal code (Law) Section 58-10 first paragraph charged Ernest with "-Negative attitude to the Soviet System/State, systemically continued anti soviet agitation, expressed dissatisfaction with the Soviet States Regime of Ulmanis." Ernest reported to have continued anti soviet conversation with other inmate at the Novosibirsk Prison No. Ernest was sentenced to 8 years imprisonment at a re-education Siberian labour camp". Ernest died 2nd December 1942 in the Siberian re-education labour camp. Years later on 1st September 1989 pronounced not guilty by the Latvian Soviet Socialist Republic Prokuratura. -Latvia on the 14th June 1987 had its first biggest Nationalist Latvian Demonstration for National Independence against Russia. -The full independence of the Republic of Latvia was restored on 21 August 1991, during the 1991 Soviet coup d'état attempt and fully recognized by the Soviet Union on 6 September 1991. | Repository (REPO4)
