  From May 1, 1919 till November 25, 1921 Ernst served in the Latvian Army, was a junior clerk in the Ministry of Defence Chancellery. Accountant-Secretary (1929) and then head of the printing office(1935) and later compositor (typesetter) and then head of the printing Office (1941). From April 10, 1929 till October 30, 1929 Ernst was a member of "Aizsargs" organization and was an infantryman in the Liepaja company of the 15 Liepaja Aizsargs Regiment. In the period of the Soviet Rule, on the June, 1941,, Ernst was arrested. Ernest Johan Embrik was married. (No information about the marriage date or place available). His wife - Lina Milda, nee Robezniek, was the daughter of the railway worker Ans and Anna (nee Abel/Ahbel) and was born on April 17 1899. In 1941 Lina (Anita maternal grandmother ) was a clerk in the Bank of Latvia. Lina's and Ernest Johan Embrik's children : 1/ Karina-Margarita Embriks, born August 15 1926 in Liepaja. In 1942- 3rd Form pupil at Liepaja Grammar School. 2/ Ingrida Marta Embrits, born January 13 1932 in Liepaja Latvia ( who went on to marry Janis Apsite, meeting him in a German displaced persons camp set up in Germany after the end of WW2.).
