- Thomas Joseph Hallam worked his way up in life to be the Manager Of Western Star Butter factory in West Melbourne, located very close to the city of Melbourne. A its height he managed over 40 employees and the factory prospered under his management.
At home he was very mechanically minded and helped his sons with the repairs of their cars. He seemed to spend a lot of time with Bill and his cars, as Bill seemed to buy wrecks.
He rebuild the front of my old HD 1965 Holden, that I David had damaged when I drove through a stop sign and was collected by a bus.
Dad built a table tennis table and many in the family spent hours playing the game in the garage. Gerry and I broke many table tennis bats.
My Dad had a strong presence about him that I have not seen since in any other man.
The Blackburn home with Tom & Theresa was a regular meeting place for the family, relatives and friends, bringing all together in many joyous celebrations.
